So I've got a new second harddrive (Seagate 7200rpm 1Tb) and the write speed is slower than my main HDD which is the same make.
Why is this? COuld it be the cables?
All SATA 3

I can record about 75% on my main drive at about 45fps when set at 60fps in DXtory

it was my understanding that I could only record 1080p with another driver.
Also i was mistaken I can record 75% on DXtory at about 40fps (I checked again)
When in BF3 Im playing at full res, i get about 70fps but my record speed is about 24fps
Why is this happening?

Recoring at 30fps, Lagarith Lossless, YV12
My primary Drive gets about 170/180 mb/s on dxtory
my secondary gets about 140/150
they are identical drives! Both are practically empty!

Download hdtune and check your throughput there. Then you can say if it is your drive or not. If it still occurs, then you can check if you are pluggin your drive into the same set of sata ports on your motherboard as the other one is plugged into. I have found drastic differences between SATA ports, and even found Marvel Sata3 ports being slower than my intel Sata 2 ports before.

Anyhow, 140/150 is perfectly acceptable for a 1 tb spinner, I recommend getting an SSD for faster capturing.
