Question Second HDD is using up 100%.

Hello everyone,

I got a Seagate Barracuda Pro Hard 2tb about 6 months ago and it has worked fine for that whole time until now as when I play a game that is installed on that hard drive or even on a different drive, the usage spikes up to 100% which causes problems like the audio cutting out and performance issues. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

I would go into Task Manager and sort the disk usage column and see if I could see what program was using the disk

I am unable to do this because it isn't the drive I have windows on and I can only see the graph that tells me it is using 100%

Then I might do a virus scan. I've seen viruses etc cause 100% disk usage quite often.

Tried that, 0 threats found .

To check to see if the drive is at fault, run SeaTools and see what the results are. If need be, you may also contact support here.

Try the long extended test. It gives the best results and yes, it does take a long time. From your description it does not look like the drive is at fault.
