Hi, In my PC build I originally had HyperX 4Gb DDR4 memory at 2133MHz, and recently acquired a Corsair 4Gb DDR4 2400MHz memory stick. I checked my motherboard, a MSI B250 PRO-VDH which says it supports 2133/2400. I read online that if there are two RAM sticks of the same memory type that are different speed the motherboard would automatically run both at the slower clock speed, which is not ideal, but it would work for me.

So my main question is this: Am I understanding this wrong, does this motherboard on support 2133 or 2400 speeds at the same time, or doesi
t have to be two of the same speed?
Sorry I'm not the most computer literate, but any advice is appreciated.

Solution
If it works they will both run at the slower speed. However mixing RAM is asking for trouble, even mixing the same make and model sticks not bought as a kit does not always work. RAM should be bought as a matched kit to guarantee it all works together without problems.
