Question Second monitor goes blank after 1 second

Hi all,

I installed a second monitor at work and it doesn't seem to work, my windows detects it and displays correctly for 1 second and then the second monitor goes black. The monitor doesn't give a no signal error and according to my display settings a second monitor is connected.

Did you clone or extend your windows desktop?

Can you move the mouse cursor to the new monitor?

Press hotkey windows + P twice to duplicate or thrice to extend the screen

If this doesn´t work:
Try only using the new monitor and have a look if it works
reboot windows while the monitor is connected

How did you connect it to the PC? Which cable? Check for a correct and tight connection between monitor and PC. Try a different cable.

Check the monitor with another PC

If this won´t work, your monitor might be defective

I extended my desktop. Yes, I can move my cursor to the new monitor

When using the new monitor only both my laptop screen and second monitor stay are black. Reboot didnt help.

I connected the screen via a usb type c to hdmi cable and in the monitor I have a DVI-D to HDMI converter

So every time I plug in the USB-type c in my phone or laptop it will only display for 1-2 seconds after it goesd to black.
