Second Monitor Suddenly Not Detected

So I keep my computer on when I leave, but turn the screens off, so I can come home and get on it really quick. Today I come home, restarted my PC via the tower button, and now Windows won't pick up my main monitor. It has power, and the "AOC" splash screen appears for a quick second or two, but then nothing happens and it returns to black. I just updated my drivers, since that was the first thing I thought of, but that didn't work. I haven't tried the monitor with another PC yet, but I figure if the splash screen appears, then it's not broken. But I may be wrong. I just got this monitor a month ago. It's the AOC 24" 144 Hz G-sync one, about $370. It hasn't even been used that harshly at all.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Solution
I had a similar problem some time ago.
After waking from sleep, my side monitor stayed black.
I could recover by powering the monitor off then on.
Right click on the desktop gets you to the screen resolution panel.
Click on detect would turn on the display.

I was not certain if it was the monitor or what.
Changing the monitor resolved the problem.

Later, I changed from a EVGA GTX780sc to a EVGA GTX980tiSC.
reattaching the original monitor that did not work, now works.

Go figure...
W as the failing monitor(Yamakazi Sparta 301) deficient in wake/sleep circuitry?
Or was it something missing in the GTX780?

Or, it could possibly be the power supply, a Seasonic X750 not keeping sufficient standby current to keep the old monitor powered...

Now, I suggest you never power the displays off.
Use sleep to ram.
It puts the monitors and pc in a very low power state, keeping only the ram contents,
Sleep/wake is only a few seconds.
