Second monitor turns on for split second, then displays nothing indefidently

I seem to be having a problem with my second monitor.

My main one is a 1920x1080 flat screen on HDMI, and the broken one is 1440x900 and on DVI.

On start up, the second monitor will flash on and show my desktop for ~1 second and then the screen goes black. The light on the monitor shows it as "Working".

Specs:

AMD 7970 Graphics*

Intel 4820k CPU**

ASRock Extreme 4 Mobo

16gb G.Skil Sniper Ram

*Temperature(in case it matters):48 Degrees C

**Temperature(in case it matters):42 Degrees C

If i didn't list something that might help.

I'm rather computer savy so i can answer any questions that might help solve this.

Well the first thing I would try is to see if the second monitor works by itself. Set it up as a single monitor on the 1440X900, if it works that at least eliminates the possibility of the monitor being broken.

Other monitor was fine, it had to have its brightness turned down for some reason.

Ok... Glad you got it sorted out. Not something I would have thought of immediately. Sometimes it's best to start with the most obvious things first. Odd that it was able to flash up your desktop for a second and then go black.
