Second monitor wont work?

Hey guys i have the
XFX R9 280X Black Double Dissipation and i am trying to connect 2 monitors with the 2 DVI connectors on the back of it (i dont have HDMI yet and i dont have mini display ports) but windows doesnt see the second monitor at all! What now?

Controllpanel-> display-> adjust resolution and there enable two monitors.

Well there is 1 monitor in that selection the second one is not in there but is connected via a Red DVI Port
Is Red not good?

Did you try detect and identify?
Orientation needs to be Landscape. Multiple monitors need to be Extented.

Then somewhere is setting enable monitor settings without restart. I thibk it was in advanced settings.

Try that working cable with other monitor. maybe cable is not working?

Try that working cable with other monitor. maybe cable is not working?

i did and then the other one doesnt work
so only inthe first DVI spot it works
the second one doesnt
But once again the second one is RED so i dont know what that means the first one is black the second (not working one) is RED

You need to enable multiple display mode( in Manage 3d program settings) and/or re-run the setup multiple display wizard in nvidia control panel.

Where can i find Manage 3d program settings?

in nvidia control panel ofcourse. its the first or second option in the left most column as soon as you launch nvidia contro panel. It may be manage 3d settings/ manage 3d program settings, both are same.

But my graphic card isnt Nvidia
but i have nvidia control panel from my old graphic card
does it still work??

No. You need Ati / AMD drivers to get it work.
Remove all Nvidia drivers. Maybe it will then start working properly.

AMD Control centre Catalyst doesn't see the second one
But what means the RED slot where the second monitor is in?

You can try install new windows.
Look your video cable. Is it really DVI-D with 24+1 pins?
Is both ,omitors working with working DVI-D connector?
You did try both cables?

Maybe you need RMA the video card. If it is not working properly.

Install new windows and then load first video drivers. Before you install firewall or antivirus.

Then download new mobo drivers and other stuff what you need.
Or try driver sweepper.

R9 280X is really power hungry card.

And what monitors you have? Monitors are working?

My CPU is AMD 8 Core FX 8350
and my power supply is 750 Watt it is not a power fault
i think the red DVI slot means that it is used for something else

It doesn't matter if the dvi slot is red or rainbow colored, it is used for dvi monitor input only. Have you installed the latest catalyst drivers? Without them , only one monitor will display.

It double checked and reinstalled it.
it is the latest version (13.12)

Then try re-installing it as "run as administrator"
