At first I wasn't really interested, I thought "just another slightly overpriced pair of headphones", but after learning more, I think I actually want this.
I would love to feel this kind of sound localization on non-vr games as well.

I'll be interested to see how effective these are. I wonder about what kind of sound card you may or may not need for these. If you're just feeding it a stereo signal, I don't see how these would operate any differently.

You wouldn't feed it a stereo signal if you want the spacial audio to work.

"While the OSSIC X already supports existing standard 2D-audio formats such as stereo, 5.1, and 7.1, we want to make it easy for game and sound designers to go beyond with 3D-audio experiences. By using the OSSIC X, you can design fully immersive soundscapes without installing ceiling speakers or needing to sit in a studio."

I'd guess the input is HDMI.

From what I've seen, this is a USB headset (with optional 3.5mm jack, I believe?)

It would be great if we started seeing some movies with complete 3d spatial audio.

Thanks for the info! USB is a much better solution than HDMI for this task.
