Question Second router as AP, devices takes long to connect to internet (connected but no internet)

Hi, I am hoping if anyone can assist with the below:

I have 2 routers. Second one is configured as an access point for the other end of my house. Devices which connect to the AP via wifi takes about 10 minutes to be able to get internet, wifi connects instantly but it says connected but no internet for 10 to 15 mins but eventually it connects..

They are both the same SSID, Security, Password and Channel.
They are on different IP addresses (the wap is on .2), DCHP is off on the WAP, and they both are connected via the cable.

On the other hand, Wifi connects instantly with Internet access if I move closer to the first router which has DHCP enabled,

You might want to see if the router turned AP has the latest firmware updates. As for your routers, might want to mention the make and models of both of them.
