Second screen detected after waking up

My PC keeps detecting a second monitor after waking up from sleep mode when I only have one monitor connected to the computer.
Due to this every time I wake my PC up I am able to move the mouse outside of the screen to the right and it's annoying, because every time I wake my PC up I have to go to my settings and disable that nonexistent monitor.
Is there a way to permanently disable this issue? Thanks in advance!

What does the labelling on the second monitor say? In display properties?

Do you have a discreet GPU? If so, it may be a conflict with your onboard graphics enabled.

I've seen this a couple of times - and disabling onboard graphics in the BIOS has fixed it.

It is labeled as "Generic non-PnP monitor" and I have onboard graphics disabled.
