Question second SSD causes lag spike and slow in system

I recently got a SK Hynix S31 SSD to give myself more storage but whenever I'm in a game or just on the window home screen I see the screen freeze and apps like chrome or Spotify would take longer to load. I believed this was the work of a faulty SSD so I reached out to amazon a couple days ago and got a replacement for it. But the same problem is there.
Does anyone know why.
P.s this pc is a newly built.
