Secondary hard drive still work with a new primary or primary wipe?

If I get a new ssd for my system would my secondary drive act with no problems if I cleaned my primary drive and gave it a full wipe or bought a new ssd and used it in my system. Just didn't want to have to wipe my secondary hard drive with about 600gb of stuff on it. I have games/music/movies and programs on it. Just wanted to ask before I got started on anything.

Most of my games are through steam and origin if that helps at all. I'm not really worried about losing the games but the game progress rather.
