Hi.
My brother has a laptop, namely the ASUS K550JX-DM013T. It has been working fine for quite a while now. This morning, the laptop was updating windows, and it froze at 100%. He decided to hold the power button, powering it off before the updates were fully applied. When he tried to boot his laptop, he received the error 'Secure boot violation'. After pressing the enter key, the BIOS was opened. From there what he decided to do was to search a quick fix tutorial on YouTube, which messed things up even further. He disabled 'Fast boot' and disabled 'Secure boot control' as well. After he had done that, he powered the laptop off and back on. He got the little 'ASUS In search of incredible' startup screen for a split second and BIOS was opened right after.
Now I'm really skeptical to what I should do because I'm not quite the best with this kind of stuff. Hence, I have decided to turn to you fine gentlemen (and ladies) for help. Any advice is appreciated, and thank you sincerely for your time.
