Depends on the type of fan the CPU cooler is, most of them have grips on the side rather than screw holes to clamp onto the cooling fins. So it's not really a case but more of the fan itself that's the issue.
Besides, it's not ideal to remove the fan on the cooler as doing so will reduce the effectiveness of heat dissipation.
