[SOLVED] 'Security Auditing' causing mouse freezing/stutter

I've been suffering from a mouse problem for a long time now. It freezes every so often, seemingly random. It's not the mouse - the cursor stops and catches up a few seconds later.

Recently used Event Viewer to find a frequent service called Microsoft Windows security auditing. More often than not, when this runs my mouse freezes. I've checked the timings of when my mouse freezes and it matches the following events:

Event ID 4798 User Account Management.
Event ID 4672 Special Logon
Event ID 4624 Logon

In the image you'll see said events. My mouse would freeze for a second or two at: 17.55 and 17.43. The mouse disconnected and reconnected completely at 18:00.

This can go on all day sometimes. However, these events can happen and not affect my mouse. Also, my mouse can do tiny stutters and no events show up. So it's not air tight but there's a pretty clear pattern.

I will test this further but has anyone got any experience of this or suggestions of how to troubleshoot further? I have tried formatting, different mice, you name it pretty much...

Hello

Many times mouse stuttering happens due to old graphics driver. You can try updating it and see if that helps.

Since the mouse also freezes during security audits, probably it's the IRQs that have something to do with it. Nevertheless, please try checking for BIOS and Windows updates and see updating the two resolves the issue.
