See external webcam on desktop on window 7

Hello,
my name is shareefa,i cant use my external ebcam though they tell me it is working properly,and when i tried to go to device manager they told me the software has been installed!why cant i use it or see it in my desktop,please help me

What is the brand/model of the webcam? Do you have the drivers and software that came with it? If yes, you probably need to install both or at least the software that allows you to access the webcam.
