Budget?
What are you looking in a motherboard besides m.2 support?
What form factor?
How many PCIe slots?
How many DIMM slots?
Do you plan to overclock?
be a bit more specific.

Sorry for missing details.
I have no preset budget but not too expensive, not high end product.
Form factor - pls explain in more detail
RAM 64GB
PCIe 4
PCIe - 1 slot
DIMM - 3 slots
No overclock
I need Display Port and booting MVNe SSD
Graphic resolution 4K 60Hz refresh rate minimum.

Thanks

Form Factor like in ATX, MicroATX, Mini-ITX, etc...
Just to note:
3700X doesnt have integrated graphics, so 4K60Hz through motherboard's DisplayPort will be useless, since you will need to connect your video cable to the GPU.

Hello

Thanks for your advice.

I'm planning building a new PC for home/office use, not for gaming. I have no pre-set budget, however not intending building a too expensive PC.

Planning configuration:
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 with integrated graphic, 8C/16T, 3.6GHz, 36MB Cache
Motherboard - without graphic card
Graphic output - 4K 60Hz refresh rate (min)
with Display Port
RAM - 64G DDR4
Hard drive - 2TB NVMe PCIe 4.0

On searching just found;
AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G 100-000000145 8C/16T,3.6GHz,12MB Cache, TSMC 7nm,Socket AM4 CPU
(with integrated graphic)

Review: Renoir Ushers in a New Era for 7nm Desktop APUs
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-7-pro-4750g-renoir-review/3

But Cache - 12MB

Have you had any suggestion? Thanks

Currently the 4750G is the best you can get.
That thing is a beast, and from what i've seen, it doesnt hurt overclocking it, since you will get some pretty decent gains.
What frequency (MHz) is your ram running at?
Hello,

Thanks for your advice.

Although 4750G is more expensive I'll use the new PC for several years, not a few months. I'll include it in my configuration of the new PC. What motherboard shall I pick?

I have looked at;
ASRock B550M Steel Legend B550,AM4 Socket,2.5GbE Lan,USB3.2 Gen2 Type-C, PCIe 4.0 mATX M/B

But I found some bad comment on it regarding problem booting on NVMe SSD. Do you have any suggestion? I prefer ASUS mobo

Regarding RAM in the configuration:-
G.SKILL 64GB Kit F4-2666C18D-64GTRS Trident Z ROYAL ROYAL RGB Silver DDR4 2666MHz (2x32GB)
Frequency - 2666MHz

B550 stell legend is a good motherboard.
Those NVME problems only seem to appear with few people, it doesnt mean it will happen to you.
2x32GB will run on that mobo without a problem.
ASUS similar version:
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JX...g-atx-am4-motherboard-rog-strix-b550-f-gaming

Or the MSI tomahawk B550 i linked above.

Good suggestion. Thanks

MSI tomahawk B550 is not expensive.

MAG B550 TOMAHAWK Specification
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B550-TOMAHAWK/Specification
1x DisplayPort, supports a maximum resolution of 4096x2160 @60Hz
Expansion Slot
1x PCIe 4.0/ 3.0 x16 slot (PCI_E1)
1x PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (PCI_E3), supports x4 speed
2x PCIe 3.0 x1 slots
4 x DDR4 memory slots, support up to 128GB ;
Supports DDR4 1866/ 2133/ 2400/ 2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200 MHz by JEDEC
Supports DDR4 2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466/ 3600/ 3733/ 3866/ 4000/ 4133/ 4266/ 4400/ 4533/ 4600/ 4733/ 4800/ 4866/ 5000/ 5100+ MHz by A-XMP OC MODE

It doesn't show the mounting of NVMe storage devices ?

What will be your comment on;
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 100-100000063WOF 8C/16T,3.8GHz,36MB Cache,TSMC 7nm,Socket AM4 CPU w/o Fan
Its price is about 50% more expensive than AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G. But it is with 3.8GHz,36MB Cache
AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G;
3.6GHz,12MB Cache

I'll use this new PC as virtual machine running KVM or Oracle VirtualBox. Would there be an advantage?

Regards

You need a graphics card for 5800X.
And the GPU needs to support 4k 60FPS, so it cant be some old GPU.
5800X would be better for gaming, but for productivity, i doubt there will be any significant difference, as they have the same core/thread count.
B550 supports 2x M.2, the first m.2 slot is above that first PCIe GPU slot, the second one is below the last PCIe GPU slot.

They are clear to me now. Thanks

I never use MSI motherboard before. OK let me try it. Most the time in past I purchased ASUS motherboard and they never failed.

Regarding power supply I'll select Corsair CX550

CORSAIR CX Series CX550 - power supply - 550 Watt Specs & Prices
2 x 8 pin PCI Express power with detachable 2 pin section

PCIe power and cable are awailable

I suppose 550 watt will be sufficient?

Are models CX550 and CX550M the same?

CX 550 should be more than enough for a 5800X and a low powered card.
CX550 is a bit better, i believe, but both are good for your pc.
MSI/GIGABYTE/ASUS/ASRock are all good motherboard manufacturers.
You cant go wrong with neither of them.

I can purchase CORSAIR VS500

CORSAIR VS Series VS500 - power supply - 500 Watt Specs

Power Output Connectors Details
1 x power 24 pin ATX with detachable 4 pin section
1 x power 8 pin EPS12V
7 x 15 pin Serial ATA power
2 x 4 pin internal power
1 x 4 pin mini-power connector
6 pin PCI Express power

It also provides a 6 pin PCI Express power cable, but not a detachable cable as CX550M. I believe 500W will be sufficient.

New PC Configuration
1 2TB NMVe SSD
1 4TB Western Digit Hard Drive for storage

That is all. I need PCIe power for in case 8K display is available on market. I'll get one replacing my 4K Dell 32" display. Then I need to get a 8K PCIe graphic card.

I'll build this new PC soonest because today I have a bad luck. My 2 spare computers are unable to boot for unknown cause. Yesterday they were working without problem.

Spare PC1 - pressing the on-button, the PC case green light is on. But it is unable to boot
Spare PC2 - pressing the on-button, the PC case green light is not on. But the LED light on the motherboard is on. The PC can't start. I think it is NOT the problem of power supply. There is power output on USB port. I have tested it with a LED light.

Fortunately my daily working computer is still working.

No, the VS Corsair lineup is one of the worst they had ever made.
100% go with the CX550 (or CX550M).
For the other PC problems, post a separate thread including full pc specs and your problem.
OK, I'll stick on CX550M with a detachable PCIe cable. Thanks

Regarding the problem of my spare PCs I'll start a new thread. But my problem is listing the full spec of my spare PCs because I can't start them to list their hardware by running;
$ lshw
$ hwinfo

only from my recollection.

Maybe i can help.
Open them up and take a picture of the inside.
Try to capture any serial numbers you can on the motherboard, ram, gpu, etc...

Spare PC1 works again. I just opened the PC case and re-fixed some cable.

Spare PC2 still the same;
Motherboard - ASUS M5A97 R2.0
Graphic card - ASUS EAH6450
RAM - 4 x 2G
Hard Drive - 1TB SSD
Power Supply - Corsair CX500

the LED light on the motherboard is ON. Press the On-Button on the PC case without response. The green and red LED lights on PC case are not showing.

Sorry I couldn't find a way attaching photo here.
