Seeking advice on selecting CPU

AMD vs Intel
Which CPU shall I select ?

I'm prepared to build a new PC for home use.

I'll use this new PC for graphic editing and running virtulization as home server. I'll clone my live websites, about 36 websites, on VMs (Guests) as backup. My live websites are hosted on HostGator. In case of problem I just clone the backup site to replace the live website in problem.

The preliminary configuration of the new PC is as follow;

1. CPU - I'm now targeting at;

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X Processor 16C 32T 72M Cache, up to 4.9GHz, Socket AM4
OR
Intel Core i9-12900 Tray Processor 16C 24T 30M Cache, up to 5.10 GHz, FCLGA1700

Which of them shall I select ?

2. RAM

DDR4 - 64G

3. HardDrives
For running OS and installing software
2TB NVMe PCIe 4 gen x 4

For storage
WD 4TB hard drive

4. Motherboard
I haven't decided yet. I don't need WiFi. Suggestions are welcome.

5. 4K Graphic card - already available
Nvidia GeForce RTX

Please advise. Thanks in advance

Regards

Then I'd look for 2x32GB of DDR5 and a RTX 3060 12GB.
Good suggestion. I'll change DDR4 to DDR5. Thank.

Sorry I made a mistake on my OP
5. 4K Graphic card - already available
Nvidia GeForce RTX

Just re-checked the graphic card on shelves. It is a brand new 4K display card.
MSI TWIN FROZR 7
It is still packed in box.

A Zoom in Analysis of TWIN FROZR 7
https://www.msi.com/blog/a-zoom-in-analysis-of-twin-frozr-7

I expect using it.

My immediate need is to decide whether go AMD or go Intel. I have been running AMD CPU for >20 years without problem. Which motherboard shall I select to match the CPU. I don't need WiFi on the motherboard. The price of motherboard will be cheaper.

Thanks

I'd look at this board if it's available to you.

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

Is there an Asus motherboard alternative? I have been running Asus motherboard for long time without a problem.

The motherboard supports 16 cores CPU

I need 2 (two) NVMe PCIe 4 gen x4 ports, one 2TB NVMe PCIe 4 gen x4 SSD for Linux OS and another 2TB NVMe PCIe 4 gen x4 SSD for Windows11.

I don't need WiFi

Thanks in advance.

Asus PRIME Z690-A £258.28
Thanks for your advice and links

ASUS mobo PRIME Z690-A recommended provides graphic ports. The graphic comes from CPU.

I already have a 4K display card and wish to use it therefore I won't consider purchasing CPU with graphics output.
