seeking an advice for my extrenal hard drive problem

Neil : -I accidentally dropped my external hard drive, my computer can detect it and i can open it but all files is (infected i think) it became FILE FOLDER and everytime i try to delete those files it makes my computer hangs up . i also try to format my external hard drive but i failed to do it. can you please help me fix it? tanx..

Hi there gheron Calipz,

Unfortunately, my guess would be that the drive got physically damaged due to the fall. I assume that you have no critical data stored on the drive as you've tried to format it.
It may be a good idea to start with just testing the drive: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility
