I work at the computer day and night for very long hours (self-employed). I have had my current desk for 16 years...I bought it when I moved into this current house. I will be moving to a new house, and I don't think the big desk would travel well. Unfortunately, I don't have the kind of money I invested into this current desk. I know that you get what you pay for, and this has been a great desk. It's not perfect, but it's been money well spent.
Well, here's what I want:
I want a pull-out keyboard tray. Keyboard tray needs to be strong and well put together. This is probably the most likely possible breaking point. Although I have to say, the one in my current desk is still perfectly fine after all these years...to my surprise.
I want a large surface area
I think the shape of this one may work well for me (because I like to work with the keyboard tray about half pulled out to my stomach, with my right arm resting to my side controlling the mouse). It's a little hard to explain. My current desk has a small "cutout" that't the size of the keyboard. So, I roll into that area, and have a small part of desk surface area to my left and right. This will probably really limit my options, but after 16 years, I am very used to working this way, and don't really look forward to a big change). I just *think* from looks this might give a similar result. I'm not really sure. A L shaped setup would for sure work, I think.

BUT, I need at least one drawer for pens, scissors, flash drives, extract-o-knife, etc.
A raised area for monitor would be nice, just so that it will open up more desk surface area.
A place to put a printer or enough surface area for it is needed.
STURDY! I don't want something that's going to fall apart or have problems. I'm pretty rough on stuff (have very limited vision and big, heavy fellow).
Under $400 or really close to it.
What say you, experts? Thanks much in advance for any and all help.
