If its got a firewire connection, buy a firewire card. And a firewire cable

That'll be better than using USB if its got both

This camera seems to be quite old (circa 2006), and being MiniDV you will get best results with (as Paul recommended) FireWire connection. If you don't have such port on your computer, you can get USB or PCI/PCIExpress card for it. Don't forget the cable, make sure it matches your camera.

As a final resort, you can capture videos over ordinary RCA (white-red-yellow) cable, but you will lose a lot of qualiry
