Is there anyone out there that can give me details on the fans that are attatched to the kingwin kt-436S? CFM, dB etc

The reason I ask is that the reviews I have read state talk about the fans as if they are all the same *but* descriptions also say there are

2 intakes bottom front
but then
2 exhausts top back
1 exhaust top
1 exhaust side panel

I'm no expert but that seems a bit uneven to me or do the fans have differing CFM so balance out? Is it a good thing to have more exhausts than intakes? I am assuming that you should aim to have equal intakes and exhausts in which case I was thinking of removing the side panel fan and reattatching it the other way around so that it becomes an intake blowing on the CPU, therefore giving me 3 intakes and 3 exhausts.

thoughts anyone?

As far as i know, that kingwin case is pretty much the same as ones sold by kingwin, directron and atlas.
The Original manufacturer is a south east asian company called Superflower. If you look on the casefans you may see the superflower label. All the casefans should be the same

My case is almost exactly like yours (atlas), but its black anodised.

Oh and if you get the case with a sidewindow, you loose the side casefan.

ideally the fan orientation should be
front 2 fans sucking in, pushing air over the hard drive enclosure.
side fan sucking in, cooling the graphics card and cpu area.
top fan blowing up and out, as hot air rises.
rear two fans also blowing out, venting the warm air from around the CPU.

Honestly though the case is so well designed im running my system on only 3 fans, rear 2 and the top one and case temps are still close to room temp.

As for the fans, they are slow and quiet ones, running at approx. 1500-2000rpm and according to my airflow measuring device, moving around 23cfm.

AHA! Perfect info, thanks LHGPooBaa.
The reason I was asking is that I am planning on buying the kingwin (with side panel fan) after much deliberation but wanted to check these last few bits of info before spending a wedge of cash.

Sounds like the fans should be nice and quiet.

One question for you though. You say that :
"only 3 fans, rear 2 and the top one".
Doesnt that mean that you have 3 exhausts and no intakes?

I've got the Directron SF201AS (the silver version) of the kingwin, I have a 430watt Enermax PSU with a 6-fan toggle-switch baybus to control the case fans, I am trying to sell it, I have it listed under classifieds. I am going with a Shuttle SFF pc, there is nothing wrong with the case, I am asking 200 bucks for the case, psu, and baybus. Which IMO is a good deal because the case cost 110.00, the power supply 100.00, and the baybus 45.00, please reply if interested.

i'd put the side case fan blowing inward onto the motherboard/everything else, positive pressure inside the case is good. doing this will put you at about neutral pressure (as many blowing in as blowing out) but at least you won't be negative
that's the only change i'd make

yes. the fans are damn near close enough to silent... unless of course they change what fans they put in them.
Course quiet also = slow, but ahving so many fans leads to good airflow.

and yes you are correct.
only running 3 fans, all sucking out. negative case pressure is pretty low though as the air can flow in pretty easily through the other 3 holes.
The hard drives at the front are still more than adequately cooled too, thanks to the airlow draw created by the back fans.

VoidedWarranty your just too late. After all the helpful advice I got here I placed an order with a UK firm before I left work this evening. I'm just unlucky I guess, otherwise that sounds like a good deal. Mind you shipping from US to UK might have proved expensive.

Thanks for the tip LtBlue14.

darnit, I've sent you two private messages, I guess you didn't seem them. Oh well, I guess I will have to eat 100 bucks and sell it at some used computer parts store. Enjoy your new case..
