seeking the name of a space conquest game

I remember playing a rts space conquest game I believe 95 or 98 win it played a lot like conquest frontier wars you colonized planets designed and built ships the one thing that I like the most was you could redesign your colony ships carry light fighters instead turning them in the light carriers you did research and built space stations to protect your planets but for the life of me I cant remember the name nor can I find it anywhere when I search

I have the game on my shelf and it refuses to run on any computer I own, so I have no idea if my guess is right.
But I can tell from the box that it is a space conquest game. It is from the windows 95 era.
