I have posted a thread a while back seeking a upgrade, but I was not very sure of upgrading. But it is getting time to upgrade for real this time. I been looking around and found the upgrade that I think will work but I am still open for suggestions.

AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor 15W - 125W $194.98 (Free shipping)
MSI Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Card 62W - 250W $298.99 ($8.99 Shipping)
Total: 375W $502.96

Now I can install a Video Card just fine but I am still nervous on the processor, but I will be watching some videos on how to remove / install. But any tips on how to avoid nightmares would be nice should anyone share and I will be thankful.

I am also wondering if my PSU will be able to handle this current upgrade. I think its max 600Watts, but the PSU inside the case isnt being super clear....

At times like this I wish I knew someone who built computers, perhaps find someone online and talk to me though putting the CPU in on skype...

Now for ...

Friend, do not panic! :) Relax!
Installing a cpu is not at all difficult :)
And yeah, upgrading to a 280x is a worthy upgrade, though your processor i5 is just fine (Save your bucks for the future upgrade).
Also 600watt is sufficient to handle your system, but to be precise, tell us your exact make/nodel of the power supply as the amps on the +12V rail are more important.
However the tips you asked for (if you plan to get a new cpu):

Be sure not to touch the base of the cpu and the pins on the mother board with naked hands. Wear your winter gloves and then hold the cpu to avoid oil in your skin to come in contact with the...

Well other forums I looked at suggested a better cpu, but never did tell me much of how much improvement it would give. as the upgrade I am going for is improved FPS in games. currently they are all set on "Below low settings" and get about 30 fps average even lower.

If CPU upgrade would barely give any improvement then I would like to avoid it.

Then Perhaps I should focus Budget on a better GPU

I know nearly nothing on CPUs and am wondering why they would suggest a CPU, I would like to know what a new CPU would improve on...

anyway I guess from looking at GPUBoss The Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 is currently what I am looking at, it blows my old GPU out of the water and does better than AMD Radeon R9 280X however some parts not by much... which is weird. for the price of 300 to 600.

Will like to hear from several people of reasons to upgrade a CPU.
