Seemingly high temperatures on my motherboard?

Hey guys,
I just switched over to an Fx-8350 from a Fx-6300. I'm loving the performance so far but I'm getting quite high temperatures on hardware monitor. I'm a little worried because I'm seeing almost 20C more on some monitors than on my last processor. (Same motherboard). I'll post a picture so you guys can check it out.

Everything is set to auto for voltages except for:
Vcore: 1.432 in bios -> 1.384 no load -> 1.376 under load
Ram: Set to 1.5V in bios running stock clocks

The computer:
AMD Fx-8350
MSI 990fx-GD65V2
Corsair CX750M
G. Skill ripjaws 1866
Thermaltake 2.0 performer
1x DVD drive
2x HDD
2x Radeon HD 7870

I'm worried about that 84C reading... it would have gone higher in a stress test but I stopped it because I was afraid that is close to thermal shutdown. Any ideas to cool it if it's not safe, or is it? Seems warm for electronics.

That's pretty warm. Looking at the cpu-z, you have the performance option set in the uefi bios?
What cpu cooler? And is that 47% cpu fan speed at those temps correct? Too low, you need to ramp up the fan profile for it.
Also, how many case fans? I am holding off on any significant cpu OC until I improve my cpu cooler, but with the performance preset in the bios I do not approach those temps, especially the mobo temp.

Are the pair of video cards impeding airflow? I am guessing you had them before.
The real high one is probably the vrm feeding the cpu, which will get pretty toasty under stress testing. Some people will actually double sided tape a small extra fan in a position that blows over it.

Are normal gaming temps perfectly fine? or for instance running 3Dmark? If so, I would try to improve case cooling overall, but not have a heart attack.

* I have 2 120 mm fans low on the front for intake, not spinning especially fast, and 3 120 mm pwm fans on the top/back, so I always have positive draw out. Your two 7870's shouldn't make a lot more heat than my R290x, my old 7870 ran low-mid 50s gaming, new card runs mid 60s. So I see a little more mobo, inside the case temps.

I normally see slightly higher temps on the vrm feedng the cpu than on the actual cpu itself, under normal heavy gaming. Like maybe 5C higher than cpu temp.

Hey there, rsturtle!

When was the last time you opened and cleaned the case?
I'd first blow out any dust and maybe change the thermal paste on the heat sinks for the CPU.
Whenever I sense a heat problem, I'd just put my hands on the case to figure out where the issue comes from, it could be a bad temp monitor and the tests might be misleading you. This is awfully common, so I'd suggest to try with more temp monitoring programs and check the insides yourself.
