I have damaged my Segate -Backup plus 1TB [(old version)- STBU1000300).
It received some fall damage and little bit of metal and plastic came out.
(mainly from the port area)
I tried connecting it after this incident, ,and what i saw was , after connecting a while light kept blinking ;
( It did not flicker before the incident)
and it was not being recognized by my PC. Some vibrations did come initially on connecting the device. Is there any hope to recover my data?
Thank you in advance . (p.s - sorry for my English)

Solution
Hi there Kohli_1999,

Most probably, the HDD has sustained some physical damage.
I think that you will need to contact a data recovery company in case the data stored on the drive is really important. Most of the HDD manufacturers offer their own data recovery services or have some sort of data recovery partners. You can check that out.
