I currently have a radeon 6950 and phenom ii x4 965 and I plan in over clocking them both, and I'm looking for a good CPU cooler around $25. The case I'm planning on going with is an antec df 85, which has 6x 120mm fans and 2x 140mm fans

Here are my top two choices I think
Hyper 212+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
The hyper 212 is $20 after rebate, free shipping

Seidon 120xl http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103180
The seidon 120xl is $25 after the $30 rebate and $15 wallet promo code

Which of these would be better for over locking? I also have an extra 120mm fan I would be able to stick onto the hyper 212. I'm completely new to CPU coolers, would they both be easy to install? Or would the 'water cooling' system require extra stuff to install and maintain?

Thanks!

I disagree. If the price is similar, get the Seidon XL. It'll be better able to dissipate the heat from the Phenom II, which runs hotter because of its higher TDP than most current Cpu's. That cooler has gotten fairly good reviews, so it's a solid buy.

This was with a Intel Core i7-3960X ES at 4.1ghz.

Would the hyper 212 and my antec df 85 case be good cooling to OC my amd 965 pretty well? I would be able to add on a second 120mm fan, so I figure that would be a pretty good set up for 20 bucks.

I could also upgrade to the hyper 212 evo for $30, though I'm not sure if it would be worth the upgrade over the 212 plus. From what I've read, they both offer essentially the same performance.

Wow that is great, like 20 degrees cooler than the 212... Now I think I want the seidon lol

I shouldn't have any problems installing it in my case, right? The antec df 85 is pretty big, so I feel like it should have enough room. And where do I hook up the fan; do I screw it on the side of the case on an unused fan slot? I looked up an install video and that's what it looked like, but I couldn't tell for sure since I don't have sound right now to listen to the instructions

You'll generally want to install the rad/fan combo as a rear exhaust, which will replace the current fan you have there. It'll come with 2 fans for a push/pull combination, with the radiator sandwiched in between. Holy crikey, do you have enough fans in that case? I just looked at a pic of it, and wow!

Sweet, thank you very much for the help! And yeah, there's alot of fans on it lol. Ill be getting it for $70 on Craigslist brand new in box, so I figured it would be a good buy for improving my cooling for OCing
