Hi.

My Toshiba Satellite P755 is receiving the following error at startup:
------------------
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
Reboot and select proper boot device
Or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

-----------------

I have gotten into setup by holding f2 at startup. The boot tab reads:
--------------------
1. HDD/SSD
2. USB
3. ODD
4. LAN Realtek PXE
------------------
The only keys I can press are F2 & F12.
Sorry I am a new user to this site & I am mobile so it is hard to reply.

Solution
So the up and down keys dont work, or key 1 2 3 or 4 do not work both on the keypad with numlock enabled and above they actual keys, and return doesnt work either?

I agree with this, as the HDD is the first boot device it's probably that which is generating the fault. It can also happen if you have a USB drive attached or a disc in the optical drive, but as the HDD is the first boot device, that won't be the case.

If you're capable, you could remove the HDD, attach it to another computer via a USB/SATA adapter and run Scan Disk on it.

As others said then, you had to select the proper boot device from that menu, then it will either boot or the main boot device is dead. Hopefully not, I assume it works.

If the message keeps happening, you'll need to enter the BIOS and save the settings to boot from the correct device otherwise it might keep reverting.
