Selecting a solution

Hello Tom's, you(the website) has a good forum but a question=
Why can people select best answers in threads which are not their own?
Even worse why can they un-select them?
Should't only the OP be able to select/de-select them?
Any thoughts on this are welcome.

Honestly I have thought this as well. I think it should be a system based on votes, perhaps people could vote on best answer in threads that aren't theirs.

well form what i heard from the mods , when you get above 5 best answers you are deemed a bit knowledgeable and they trust you with this option

genrally as you know it is better to leave it to the OP for selection

There are rules regarding when you should use it. Please use it carefully.

It should be the OP that makes the call, a lot of people like to play with this and end up being banned for gaming the system. Unless you are the OP better to stay hands off the Best Solution button.

Ummm.....ok but shouldn't the minimum no of best answers required should be increased to like 100 or something? 5 is too low to my liking.
