Selecting subwoofer to Yamaha A-S501

May I ask what specs shall I be looking for while trying to find a compatable subwoofer for connecting to my yamaha as501. Especially impedance-wise.

That yamaha has a native coax out for a self powered sub with built in amplifier in which case impedance has no bearing at all.

You can run a passive sub but a powered sub is the way Id be going personally.
