Selecting the perfect gpu

I nned help in selecting the best compatible graphic card for my system
Intel E2200 Pentium Dual Core 2.20Ghz
2gb DDR2 Ram
Intel P5KPLCM mother board.
Any suggestion is appreciated.

For a system that old I can't recommend anything above the HD5770 unfortunately. You could gamble and go for a GTX750Ti but that will likely be stifled by an incompatible BIOS environment not to mention my concern that your PSU might not even be able to output above 250W(seriously, though not with a snarky attitude).

Mind listing your PSU's make and model? What sort of tasks do you want to tax the new GPU purchase?

For what use? With that CPU and only 2 GB of RAM you won't be playing many games. You also need to list the case brand/model/size and the power supply brand and model to know if the card will even fit in the case and can be powered.

I don't play much of the games just a few.
I'm not too much interested in games I just need to pass time during my summer holidays.
In this system even GTA SA lags
NFS : MW works fine but I wanna play Assassins Creed too
and it will be wonderful if I'm able to play GTA 4.
