Selectively turn on/off an m.2 drive using only the BIOS (Asus)

Hello folks, wondering if it's possible to selectively enable/disable a Samsung 960 m.2 drive on an Asus Rampage V (not the newer 10 version) using only the BIOS ?

I've been making use of the bios profiles feature to allow me to set up multiple boot & storage drive options together with custom BIOS settings. Each boot drive group is Windows-isolated from the other (I'm a developer and need fully isolated test systems).
This worked well and saved me a lot of money, that is until I swapped out one of the sata boot drives for the m.2 drive. Now, the m.2 boot drive is always visible when any of the other boot drives are used - not what I want - and unless I've missed something I can't see a BIOS option to disable it. Is there any way I can do this using only the BIOS ? The manual does say that populating the 8_4 pcie lane with a x8 or higher card will disable the m.2 function but this would be very impractical since I change profiles frequently.
If this can't be done does anyone know of a motherboard that does allow this?

If its not in the user manual, or a visible selection in the BIOS...it probably does not have that option.
You should be able to "Disable" the port outright in the BIOS. Not 100% sure where it is on the Rampage..... but I know it exists on my Z97-I, so I wouldn't imagine they've taken the functionality away.

I know the M.2 configuration (x2, x4, Auto, Disabled) is hidden away somewhere, but don't remember where it is offhand.

In the BIOS there's an option stating "PCIEx8_4 and M.2 Configuration" but the only two options are "Auto" and "M.2" - nothing to force disable the M.2 slot. There's also an option about the Asus Hyper M.2 add-on card (with reference to the existing M.2 slot) but no setting here prevents M.2 boot. Unfortunately I can't see anything else obvious that stands out...maybe that possible hidden option needs to be enabled to be visible? (Google doesn't help with that)
