I have the ability to build my own desktop, but couldn't resist jumping on this dell pre-built system last year. For $423 the specs are:

Operating System
MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 650 @ 3.20GHz 41 °C
Clarkdale 32nm Technology
RAM
8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz (7-7-7-20)
Motherboard
Dell Inc. 033FF6 (CPU 1)
Graphics
HP S2031 (1600x900@60Hz)
(nVidia) <--- Nvidia GT220
Hard Drives
977GB Seagate ST31000528AS ATA Device (SATA) 35 °C
977GB Hitachi Hitachi HDS721010CLA332 ATA Device (SATA) 27 °C <--upgrade
Optical Drives
ELBY CLONEDRIVE SCSI CdRom Device
ATAPI iHOS104 ATA Device <--Upgrade
TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H653G ATA Device
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

It's also got a few extra components like wifi, etc. The PSU is a garbage stock one that needs to go.

I know if I tried to sell this on Craigslist or something I would be able to get at least $550 or more, which should allow me to recoup my investment.

I want to know if I should sell it and take the money to buy components for a new desktop, upgrade some of the major components, or part it for the newer system? I would like to take the route with the most value/performance. Btw, I do want a computer to game on really good settings, but don't want to spend $400+ for a great GPU.

What are your guys' opinions?
