How am I gonna sell my Ryzen CPU that hasn't been used too much but was overclocked at 3.9GHz.. I know people shouldn't be buying used PC components but the thing is that it has no issues and has everything (AMD RGB Wraith Cooler, Cables, Manual)

I'm thinking about selling it for a lower price (obviously because it has been used and OC'd) and save up for an 1700X or the 1800X.. I know the 1700 is not that much weaker than it's 2 brothers but I just want more performance on the build.. (NOT INTEL)

I spent $462 (Canadian Dollars) for the Ryzen 1700 and was thinking of a price if I were to sell it... Any suggestions?

Solution
Find your cpu in used condition on ebay.
Then filter on completed auctions,
In green you will see what the part actually sold for.
I checked and was surprised by how many such processors are on sale, so soon after they launched.
I see prices around $250 to $280.

What you get with 1700X and 1800X is essentially a well binnned processor that is more likely to reach 4.0 when overclocked.

As of 3/2017 here are what percent of ryzen samples
can reach an overclock at a safe vcore around 1.4v
1700 3.0 stock $330
3.8 97%
3.9 77%
4.0 26%

1700X 3.4 stock $400
3.8 100%
3.9 81%
4.0 29%

1800X 3.6 stock $500
3.9 97%
4.0 73%
4.1 21%

I think your proposed change will not be worth it.
Instead, try overclocking your 1700.

The difference between 3.8 and 4.0 will not be noticed.

Solution

Apart from ebay, your local equivalent of craigslist, Kijiji.
http://www.kijiji.ca

You may be waiting a long time for a buyer, though. Unless you sell it REALLY cheap...like 1/2 price.
(then, someone will wonder whats wrong with it)

AMD did prize cut on Ryzen 7 ahead of upcoming Threadripper.
So its lower price than you stated that time.

A 1700X or 1800X wont clock any better, you may get 100mhz more out of the 1800X, but thats it, and it will cost you $200 more, so 4ghz instead of 3.9ghz.

So how much do you think I should sell my CPU for? Thinking about selling it on kijiji..
