As noted, I am going to be selling my board & CPU before upgrading to a new system. I have Win10 Home installed on this system now. It is activated now. I would like to keep my copy of Win and install it on my new platform when I get it.
Can I legally do this and what is needed for me to do? Do I need to deactivate it on this system somehow?

Solution
Either way you have to uninstall the key completely unless you sell it without a storage drive , which I usually do.

But the removal through the prompt works perfectly.

Thank you. But it seems that they are contradicting themselves in their initial explanation. First they say:
"Uninstalling a retail product key on a PC can be useful if you wanted to... use the product key to activate Windows 10 on another PC." Yep, that's what I want to do.

But then they say:
"If you try to activate Windows 10 on another PC with this same retail product key, you may have to activate by phone if online activation fails." That's what I'm trying to avoid. So, it's basically hit and miss like with Win7?
