Semi-passive gaming/productivity build

So I've decided that I want to upgrade my computer, and that I'm going to do a semi-passive build, meaning that I want all fans to stop at idle/low load. I thought I'd post the components I've picked out and see what feedback I get.

Here are the components I'm thinking of using:

Motherboard: Asus Strix B350-F
PSU: Corsair RM550x
CPU: Waiting for next gen Ryzen
RAM: I'm thinking 2x8GB 3200MHz modules
Graphics card: Strix 1070 Ti
Case: Meshify C - TG Light
CPU-cooler: Noctua NH-D15
Case fans: 3x Noctua NF-S12B (Redux 120mm PWM)
SSD: 250GB Samsung 840 EVO - From my old PC

So here are my aspirations for this build:

Silent at idle
Capable of 1080p 60fps gaming
Not ugly

And here's how I motivated my component choices:

Motherboard: I have had only good experience with Asus boards so far. Has enough fan headers.
Looks really good IMO, at least with RGB off. Not that expensive.

PSU: Looks like a silent and efficient PSU. Fairly expensive but it has all the features I want: Modular, semi-passive, really long warranty.

CPU: I want to support AMD for competitiveness, also seems like they're not affected by Meltdown/Spectre in the same way Intel CPUs are, although I doubt anyone capable of exploiting those weak points are going after me, still feels nice. Also don't need the higher clockspeeds of intel for higher than 60 fps.

RAM: Higher frequency ram seems to benefit current gen Ryzen, most likely true for next gen as well. Also doesn't seem that more expensive than 2400MHz where I live.

Graphics card: Looks really nice, again I will be turning off the RGB. Seems to perform very well, the Strix config I mean, and 1070 Ti should be more than capable of 60FPS 1080p gaming.

Case: Very good looking case IMO, seems to have decent airflow, not very expensive, Fractal design quality. Everything I need to fit in there will fit.

Cooler: Alright, so I will probably be trying to run this WITHOUT any fan mounted at first, just to see how it performs and if it is viable to try and run permanently without a fan, just because the fan looks terrible. If it doesn't work, I'll probably get a 140mm PWM redux fan from Noctua instead of the ones included. Will not be getting a high end Ryzen with high TDP, I'm looking at a 1600 equivalent in the next generation, which should have around 65W TDP.

Case fans: Noctua seems to have high quality fans, the redux ones don't look terrible, they're PWM so I can turn them off when I don't need them and set a specific curve when the temps get high inside the case, not that expensive. They do have a pretty low static pressure, but that should be fine as all they have to do is pull air from the front panel of the meshify C and other than that there is no resistance what so ever in the case. So, 3x intake fans at the front, no other case fans.

SSD: I mean, it's free and works. Nothing more to it than that. :)

Anything I didn't think of that is obviously not gonna work? Roast me!

I really like your choices, I agree with the points you made about the psu, case and case fans.
I have no experience with the Ryzen 1600 and the BIOS that comes with the compatible boards, but I guess you could set up an limited boost and voltage setting for silent workloads and a precision boost enabled, auto voltage setting for gaming. Switching between modes is often enabled from windows.
Please get back to the thread and tell us about your semi passive results with the NH-D15!

I absolutely will, but It's going to take a while, considering I have to wait for the release :)
Thanks for the tip about profiles, will definitely look in to that!
