Can anyone help me with this? I went to the manufacturer website for help, asked there....also asked the seller about this product but without success. I bought a usb 5ghz adapter for my windows 10 pc. My pc DOES accept the 5ghz, but only has the 2.4 ghz connection. So i bought the usb 5ghz adapter, and the problem is IT WONT ENCRYPT. My router/modem has security on it, but i need to encrypt this usb device because the software that came with this usb 5ghz adapter says my system is open, and encryption is disabled. I installed and setup the device correctly, but where it says wifi protect setup, it asks me to do a wps number code. Im not sure what to do here. I get an error that says time out when i click the wps button. My pc is win 10 64 bit. lenovo z50. Thank you

Which adapters are we talking about?

Your laptop already has 802.11ac wifi and will work fine when you connect it to a wifi-router which also supports it. Sounds like your router only uses 802.11n
