Hi
Is it possible to set up a graphics card so that is sends out two different signals, using a monitor with PIP? IE: send one signal from the main window out through one HDMI port and send a different signal from the PIP through the other HDMI port? Thanks.

Thanks Popatim,
I'm not talking about sending the same signal to two monitors. A friend thinks it's possible to send different signals to two different monitors from the same computer. In other words, have scrolling text sent to one monitor and an open browser window sent to the other, using a laptop with 2 ports out or a desktop with a graphics card with two ports out. Is is possible on a laptop? Desktop?

Yes this is exactly what was said, "extended desktop" sets up multiple monitors as separate screens. Duplicated monitors would show the same thing. It's done with presentations often, the presenter has the presentation with their notes and the audience sees it without the notes, or for just having multiple programs open for more screen space.

Not sure why you could not find this online easily without asking here, it's been done for decades and every video card with more than one output supports it. Why do you think there are multiple outputs on a video card of the same type?

Sorry Popatim,
I've had 2 monitors hooked up to my Nvidia card for years, but I didn't know that I could set different signals to each or what extended desktop meant vs duplicated desktop. Thanks for setting me straight.
