I want to send an audio message from one room and be heard in another.

Several times a night I have to tell the kids to be quiet and go to sleep.I would love to speak into a microphone (or via an app) from our bedroom that would be heard on a a remote speaker in their bedroom. The house is fully networked but there is technology in their room. Any ideas?

Nothing that will be very cheap. You would in effect need a form of computer on the remote end. I suppose you could look at something like a raspberry pi or maybe a old laptop. The problem is you need something that has a ethernet port. Likely there are wireless intercom solution cheaper.

Yeah that's what I thought. I was looking for a mystical network or wireless speaker that I could attached in their room and just use an app to send the microphone audio to it. Oh well

If you have an extra Android phone, install the IP Webcam app on it. It turns your extra phone into a webcam and you can speak through the speaker. Connecting a bigger speaker would amplify your voice.

Install the app tinyCam Monitor to connect to the webcam.
