Hello, so i recently bought the GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 motherboard: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5481#ov

I also bought the Sennheiser G4me zero headset on sale: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GWU8FAE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I do not have a sound card besides the one in my motherboard, but i switched up the properties to surround sound im enjoying it for most part. But sometimes certain sounds or will come out muffled, distorted, and soft.

Im wondering i should buy this to resolve this or does my motherboard already have this technology in it since sound blaster is already integrated into the board? http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Performance-Headphone-Integrated-Microphone/dp/B00EZT7RE4/ref=pd_sim_147_6?ie=UTF8&dpID=3181i%2BPmcdL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=062G1TQQP73PEJ4FZ8M2

Any feedback or suggestions on how to improve my overall sound quality would be great. I'm a PC desktop gamer only, i wont be using anything for iphones, ipods, or other electronic devices, Thanks.

The Creative Sound Blaster Omni is just a USB based external sound card and it has no added features except for marketing flavors added to the product that might make you think it's superior to onboard audio solutions. Breath easy as you already have a Sound Core 3D chip built onto your motherboard so any and or all sound manipulation can be done in the software suite in your OS. Since you mentioned that the sound is muffled at times for some titles, have you made sure your sound setup doesn't have smart volume manager/noise normalization enabled as well as seeing if your titles are supported by your sound card since your headset is based of a stereo input and thus any surround will be produced via stereo upmixing via the software.
