As the title suggests, brand new pair of game ones. I have a $30 dollar headset that is blowing these things out of the water. Everything is in the basic audio jacks on the back of the PC. I've heard you might need extra sound equipment to run these to their full potential, but I doubt this is what people meant. Please please help. Any way to fix this? I was hoping for plug and play... And yes I've tried them on my phone and they sound a decent bit better so I don't think its the hardware itself.

Solution
Basic audio equipment should be able to run it, maybe not at it's full potential but not that bad. There may be something wrong with the headset I would return it if you can. Than head over to Headfi, another website filled with audiophiles and ask them for help with selecting a good setup. And if you could just use headphones and an mic, I say this from experience as I find the combination of the two in a headset to be quite unreliable after awhile and tend to break but a pair of headphones generally just need to be recabled or new padding.

As for what to try now, check your sound control settings. Where is it plugged in? Is it plugged in the green audio jack, and nothing else plugged in audio related anywhere. The drivers up to date...

EQ setting, did you enable surround sound (if so swap it back to stereo), could be a lot of things just keep trying to eliminate possibilities no mater how stupid they are and how sure you are it's not the problem and you may find the issue.
