Hello again guys, i''m currently looking for a new pair of headphones as my old hyperx have just died. I'm currently looking at the sennheiser g4me ones,(£150), or the Sennheiser 373d, (£200.) I would be using the game ones plugged directly into my motherboard, (asus z170a) compared to the 373ds usb soundcard. The 373d also come with the "dolby surround sound" which i'm not really sure about honestly. I was looking for some insight into which headset would be best. Thanks abunch! :)

Apart from all the hype generated by the company, honest, the difference between the two are that one is analog and the other is USB driven. The USB driven headset as the platform states has all the audio processed at the USB port as opposed to having an audio chip process the sound for your ears. This is in essence one of the ways the USB driven headset achieves the virtual surround sound. It's merely a stereo source that is upmixed with software.

Ask yourself, there is only two physical drivers in both the headsets yet one has virtual surround, how? Simple, software emulation. If you'd want true surround sound, you'll need to look into Razer's Tiamat headset.

My 2 cents, pick up the analog 150quid headset.
