Hi! I am trying to network a DOS laptop to a Win98 PC for the purpose of making more space available to the laptop. I'm using a serial cable and NSLAN to connect the two computers. I fiddled with settings, and there is still no connection. The computers are at my mother's house, and I will be there until Wednesday morning Eastern time. Can anybody help me out?

Hi

Is the serial cable a lap link compatible cable or a standard serial cable

But there is no such thing as a standard serial cable except one for PC to modem

If this laptop is so old that it has ms dos does it also have win 3.0, 3.1 or 3.11?

Probably better copying files to floppy disk

Does it have 10 or 10/100 MB/s. Network card which would be easier to use via a switch than a serial port network connection as you need software supporting dos or win 3.x at one end and win 98 at the other end

What size ( capacity not 2.5" or 3.5") is the hard disk on the old laptop ?
