Series 9 chipsets?

I was reading the TH review of the Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core and it said a few features would only be available on a motherboard with the series 9 chipset. What exactly does that mean and how can I tell if a MB has is. Is the Z97 Express chipset series 9 for instance or is it more complex than that.

Google just made things even more confusing so thanks for your help.

A "9-series" chipset refers to the b/h/z 91/95/97 chips.

This is one of very few cases where things are really that simple.
