I have a metal USB of about 16 GB. I frequently plug it in and out of my computer without any problem. But a day ago, when I plugged it in I got an electric shock which was really very high. I have many times recieved shocks from 220 V electricity and this shock was not less severe than them by any means!! But my USB wasn't destroyed and works well. Now when I plug in my USB, I have to handle it in a blanket!! Similarly I have USB speakers. When I connect the USB to a port and accidentaly touch the audio jack it also gives a high voltage electric shock!! But nothing with my hardware has gone bad upto now. Every thing works just well. Except my USB keyboard, which sometime stops responding but that I think it is keyboard's own problem and I am going to replace it. So my questions are:
- How can the USB ports gave so high voltage?
- If the voltage is really so high, then why don't my devices like mouse, speakers etc. burn out with such a high voltage while they can only bear voltage of about 5-10 volts?
What can I do to solve the problem? Shall I replace my PC(which I don't prefer to do as it is like my best friend!!)?
