Server Buying Guide 3600$ max price

Hello all ,
i am planing to buy new server i prefer it to be rack mounted , my budget is 3600 $ maximum
we are engineering company our files will be shared and stored there so the purpose of the server is file sharing and domain controller.

Look into Synology's offerings. Specifically the RS816 and RS2416+/​RS2416RP+ should fit the bill for what you want, as they are fairly multi-functional and easily scalable if you need more storage space (if you buy the diskless ones make sure you use NAS HDDs in them). Which one to get really depends on what your storage needs are.

Opposed to building one yourself for a fraction of the cost? If needed, there likely plenty of local IT shops that can assist with the active directory setup and file sharing...
