Hey, i've been waiting so long to setup my mining rig BUT i got stuck on one last thing.
I got 12x GPU rtx 3070 gigabyte gaming oc (220TDP each), and i've been struggling about how i can/should power them properly with SERVER PSU.
After about two weeks and lots of research and math i found out that i need at least 2640W (12x 220w) for the gpu, 150W for mobo and rest of components which means a total of 2790W.
I read it's recommended to have 80% capacity of the PSU so that mean 2790 multiply 1.25 is a total of 3500W supplied of psu's powering.
I've been looking in parallelminer for server psu and i found out that i can get a two good options 2400W delta (9gpu) and 1200w HP (3gpu + mobo + rest of components) psu's.
my output is 210/220v with 16amp so it won't be a problem with handing the power of them.

MY QUESTION IS do i have to synch between them for making use of 1 output from the wall? if yeah, how do i do that? which one should i make the main ?which cable/breakout board follows with it? i'm lost in the shadows here, I will really appreciate it if someone can recommend me about a solution here.

One last question is my gpu's got 1x8 ping and 1x6ping connector, is it recommended to connect them with two separate pcie cables from the psu or use a splitter (no idea which one) that will do the job???

I would appreciate for some links to good quality AWG16 splitters that fit these connections, (about the risers i just connect it straight to the same breakboard with 6pin pcie cable, correct me if im wrong) I really need some expert advice fellas.

Overall, my thought is that the rig will be under powered.

GPU ( x 12) being:

And for example/reference purposes:

Note the warnings:

"Note that you must power GPU and USB riser connected to the GPU from the same PSU or risk damaging the components. "

"Never use Molex or SATA to PCI-e adapter! "

= = = =

I am not a bit-miner (full disclosure) however, I am aware that you must be able to understand and address all of the questions being fairly raised.

The bold warnings above, just on their own merits, partially answer some of your questions.

Planning and forethought is the key. Details matter.

Sketch out (map) all of the necessary power connections between PSU(s) and the supported components. Mainly all of the GPUs.

Determine if and where you need splitters, adapters, etc..

Use the motherboard, GPU, and PSU documentation to confirm that the connections are correct. Read the fine print, footnotes, and all warnings.

Good to see/read you are doing calculations and thinking it all through as best you can. Keep going with that.

Thank a lot my friend for the concern and the replay :)
I got it all sort up by reading and searching.
definitely not recommended to use any sata cable for mining rig, molex as well except for special / specific wires design of molex.
If you like to get some answers i would love to send you in pm ,thanks a lot again and have a good day ^^
