Which should I choose? I understand it depends on what it's use will be, so here is some background. This 'network' will be isolated. Period. It's sole function will be to provide high-speed access to 'Evidence', or the high-speed ability to write evidence to the array. Yes - the protection and storage is one main aspect of the device. There will be one printer, with about 10-15+ workstations associated with the Server/NAS. The workstations will have 2 functions associated with the device, 1- to push/write evidence to the device, 2- to access the evidence stored on the device for processing.
Thats it. As far as 'sharing', no evidence will be 'shared' at the same time, only one user will access any given evidence at any given time.
So, what should I spec out?
A server, or a NAS?
