Setting absences

I keep screwing up the syntax of the set absence command
but I find that the info I get from the syntax or index
files is not very helpful... can someone give me an example
of the date format?

Set Absence SEP 1 to SEP 15

or

Set Absence 1 SEP to 15 SEP

Either one will work fine, but "SEPT" or "September" won't work; and trying
to use numbers for months won't work, either.
