I recently bought a replacement screen for my laptop that is 120hz. After installing it I noticed it is still at 60hz and I can't find the option to change the refresh rate in the NVIDIA control panel and 60hz is the only available option in the windows settings. Please advise me what to do to set it to 120hz. My laptop is a dell g3 3579 (2018)

if the screen is an OEM replacement then you shouldn't need to change anything.
it should run at the previous settings from before swapping.

if this is some kind of 3rd party replacement part not certified by the laptop manufacturer then there may be no way of raising the refresh rate.

you should probably be contacting Dell support directly.

You have tried changing I’d under Windows Advanced Display Settings?
I followed this guide using the tool provided in the article linked below and I've managed to get it up to 90hz but I'm having trouble getting it past that. I'm going to just keep trying. If I can't I'm still happy with 90hz much better than the 60hz before. It is a third party screen replacement. The OEM screeen ran at 60hz.

Nothing shows up besides whatever it is running at in the advanced display settings.
